I’ve been in McKinney, TX, since moving from Henderson in 2019. 2205 Tremont Blvd, McKinney, 75071. The housing development is “Tucker Hill” on the west side, just off U.S. 380. I lost my wife, Patricia (Pat), last year, December 20, from several ailments resulting from ovarian cancer surgery in 1982. She was pretty ill for the previous two years, having several surgeries.
Over Christmas this year, I went with my son and his wife to Germany, Bavaria, in particular. My eldest grandson, Ben, is stationed there near Amburg, which is near Nuremberg. He’s a JAG Corps captain and has already spent two years in South Korea. He has an engineering degree from A&M and a law degree from Texas Tech. His younger brother, Sam, joined us in Munich. Neither of them are married. We toured around in the cold and gloom and ended up in Ben’s apartment in Amburg, where he commutes to Graffendorf and the Army Base. I want you to know that my grandson Sam attended The Naval Academy, Class of 2022, and finished second in his class with a degree in Computer Science. The Navy sent him to M.I.T. for a master's degree. He’s finally on the job out of Ft. Meade, Maryland. Thank you for this opportunity to brag.
Three of us arrived at IAH after some tornadic weather. Inbounds were delayed, and outbounds were canceled. I spent the night in the terminal with hundreds of others—I had never done that before.
For the past few years, I have been writing a biography of my father. He was a significant source of genealogy work and helped to promote a family-based organization, The Laney Clan USA, which is in its 50th year of research and reunions.
My health is pretty good: prostate cancer is in remission with chemotherapy. I try to work out at least three times a week at LA Fitness nearby, and this year, I’m trying to communicate more.
My Best to You All,
Tom Laney

Absolutely thrilled to be permanently relocated to the Texas Hill Country, Fredericksburg! I never thought I'd be a 'commuter' but here we are. My wife Stephanie and I decided to move up our time frame and put Houston in the rear view mirror. We'll be building this year what we hope will be our retirement home. Stephanie retired in 2020 after 15 years as a corporate flight attendant. We will regularly be spotted, often with our Yorkie, Coco, along Main Street in Fredericksburg, at local wineries and enjoying Hill Country food.

"Trying to find my old New Hire sim partner William (Bill) Barnett.
We were in DC-10 school in May 1984 in LAX. He was Houston based, most of his career."
Maybe someone can help him out.
