STARTUP INFORMATION, MORE DETAILS and PHOTOS SOON!
Greetings to all Hill Country Golden Eagles members. It appears that we have had a sufficient number of positive responses (24 out of 34) to the proposal for regularly scheduled LAC luncheons for the program to proceed. I believe we will have additional positive responses forthcoming soon.
After input from our members, the first luncheon has been scheduled. The luncheons will be held quarterly and the first luncheon is scheduled for Wednesday, Jan 17, at 1130 AM at the Pecan Street Brewery/Restaurant, 106 E. Pecan Dr. in Johnson City, TX. The phone number is 830-868-2500. Here is a link to their website for your convenience. https://www.pecanstreetbrewing.com/ . We will decide on a date and time for the next quarterly luncheon at the meeting in January....probably in mid April, with succeeding meetings roughly three months apart or as determined by the group.
While the luncheon is primarily intended for Golden Eagles members residing in the local area, any GE member is welcome to attend and guests of members are also welcome. We have not planned to include the spouses of members in these meetings, but if enough members express a desire to include them, we can certainly open the luncheons to spouses. The Denver LAC does include spouses, but the Kingwood, Conroe and The Woodlands, TX LAC`s do not. If you wish to express your opinion on this issue, please do so by email to [email protected]. It is understood that Golden Eagles members living in the area may not be able to attend every LAC luncheon. We would just hope that these members will make a reasonable effort to support this program and will attend when they are able.
A list of all Golden Eagles members living in the Hill Country area who have agreed to support the Hill Country LAC luncheon program will be provided to you via email. Because of the relatively long distances our attendees will have to drive (an average of about an hour + or -), those who may wish to arrange for carpooling can do so by contacting attendees who live close by.
Updates will be provided if and when more members respond to the proposal email. If there are any members who request a change in the protocol or any of the details of the luncheons, those suggested modifications will be submitted to the members for their input and a subsequent decision by the group. Clearly after the first luncheon we will have a better feel for how the members want to proceed with future luncheons. This is a work in progress, so your input is welcome.
Now put the luncheon date and time on your calendar and I will send out a reminder email around the first of Jan to help all you old farts with lousy memories to remember the event (if I don`t forget to do it!)
I am looking forward to a fun get-together and I hope all of you are as well. See you then, and stay tuned..........
